Chipone Successfully Develops and Applies the First Silicon-based OLED Display Chip ICNU1210

(August 12, 2021, Beijing, China) -- Recently, Chipone Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (Chipone) announced that it has successfully developed and applied ICNU1210, the first silicon-based OLED display chip. The R&D of this chip was mainly undertaken by the Advanced Display Technology Division set up in January 2020. As the newest division out of five key divisions of Chipone, the Advanced Display Technology Division places its focus on the technological innovation and R&D of new products in the field of advanced OLEDs. Products developed by it are mainly applied for silicon-based micro OLED display chips for AR/VR and the relevant micro OLED applications.


As forecast by IDC, the scale of silicon-based OLED market is expected to reach RMB 12 billion in 2021. In 2020, the investment for production lines exceeded RMB 20 billion and there have been over 10 manufacturers engaged in relevant business in Chinese mainland.
